So about this RV journey… My parents died unexpectedly- only experiencing a few of the plans they wanted to accomplish in their lives. We didn’t want to wait to pursue our dreams- so we sold our home and most of our belongings, bought an RV, and hit the road!
The original idea was to travel for a year. Visit our friends, family and thousands of our doTERRA team members around the country, all while giving our boys the education and experience of beauty in the world around them. We felt they needed to know that they can live or travel anywhere, as well as create the life of their dreams!
Living in such a beautiful country, we are often asked which is our favorite place we’ve visited. Now, THAT is a hard question!
Starting with the Pacific Northwest- We have such a love for the PNW. It’s lush, green and, well, it was home. Where we felt comfortable because we were born and raised there. But I am one to get us out of our comfort zone! Because that is where true growth happens! And boy, this trip has helped us grow as a family!
So back to our favorites: we discovered a love for the Rocky Mountains in all its beautiful seasons; Saguaro cacti (which is the epitome of cacti!) in Arizona; the white sand beaches and palm trees in the South; the gorgeous and desolated Moab desert; watching the huge bison in SD and WY; or the moose in the Rockies; the beautifully imposing Great Smoky Mountains and Stone Mountain. We also loved Austin and Waco, Texas for its BBQ and friendly people. Truth be told, we can’t pick one- every place we have visited has its own unique beauty.
We have loved all the experiences we have had as a family to date… well, except when I missed the bottom step in our RV, fell and broke my foot. That was not fun! But other than that experience, we feel blessed to have this opportunity. It is so rewarding and we meet some of the BEST people that we would have never met otherwise. We love the life we have created!
I love that you are so well-traveled. I miss the BBQ in Austin 🙂
