This week I am headed to Europe. Prague, to be specific! I am already starting to prepare my body for long flights, different time zones, different foods and being around many people and GERMS.
I am thrilled for this trip. I will be surrounded by dozens of ladies and men who are also building a business with doTERRA. We will embark on a powerful business training that will push us to step further outside our comfort zones. This business if full of mindset and personal development. You only continue to build a bigger business, reach new ranks and grow your income if you are willing to do the personal work. With personal growth you get resistance. Every. Single. Time.
There will be resistance within yourself and resistance from others, even your loved ones or business partners. Many times it is subconscious and others don’t realize why they are putting up so many roadblocks. Recognizing that every bit of growth comes with resistance is the first step to moving toward greatness.
Making the decision to leave my three little boys with my husband for nine days was not easy. It will be a struggle for him. It will be a struggle for me. There was so much resistance in planning this trip. So many times I felt like cancelling it. Not because he is incapable or that I worry for my children’s care – Josh is amazing with our boys. He is the type of man that women dream of marrying. He is focused on our family, the boys are his life. He has always been right there to feed, change, bathe, cook, do laundry, dishes, everything – without anyone asking. He feels, just as I do, that it is not just one person’s responsibility to run a home, and I am so thankful for that. However, having sole responsibility with zero alone time for 9 days will be ROUGH. I know I would struggle doing it alone.
There was resistance in knowing they will all miss me. We have been together nearly EVERYDAY for two years. When I say together, I mean within 400 square feet of each other. Living and traveling in an RV has made our family super close. If I am sitting around at home, it is not uncommon for all 3 boys to be on my lap, fighting for room. I have taken short trips away to teach classes this past year, but typically I am only gone a night or two. Eight nights (nine days) will definitely be a stretch for all of us.
There was resistance in keeping up with the seven weeks of homework required before we all get to attend this esteemed leadership training. My weeks are already so busy, it was tough to fit in time to do homework.
I recognized, however, the things keeping me busy were merely distractions, attempting to get in the way of my growth. I recalled some advice from The War of Art by Steven Pressfied: When set our sights on something, it is easy to become distracted along the way. We have to learn to cut out the distractions. The phone for instance. There will always be Facebook, Instagram and text messages to respond to. Sometimes shutting it all off and walking away is the KEY to focusing.
Bottom line, I knew I needed to be in Prague. I knew everything would fall into place. I knew it would all work out. I have so many exciting goals for my business and family, and now is the time to MOVE toward them. Resistance is bound to happen every step of the way, but I will try to be laser focused on what is best, not what feels comfortable.
Whenever I travel, especially through airports and out of country, I am always prepared with wellness products, which will give my body and immune system a shot at overcoming all that I will be exposed to. We encounter so many different things when we travel, and most of it affects our health.
In preparation for my trip, this week I will be upping my Vitamin C and taking On Guard + Softgels daily, as well as continuing my Life Long Vitality Supplements. I want to head out with my immune system ready to take on whatever comes my way. My supplements keep my digestive system moving, my immune system functioning properly and provide my body with optimal nutrition. They also have profound benefit on my mental heath – I notice a huge difference in my stress levels when I miss a dose.
I have used Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C by LivOn for the past couple years. It is a liquid (thick gel) that is bioavailable, which means it is absorbed and recognized by our bodies more than conventional Vitamin C tablets. I take it multiple times a day when I am feeling under the weather. It is a powerhouse!
While there are a lot of vitamins readily available at every grocery store and market, most are (sadly) loaded with synthetics, which are not meant for our bodies to process. If you aren’t absorbing the vitamins and minerals in a supplement, then it’s a waste of money. This is the reason I switched from my previous vitamins to using the doTERRA line of vitamin and mineral supplements. If you received a copy of my free E-book, then you’ve already heard all about the Lifelong Vitality Pack, but I can truly say that the Microplex VMz, xEO and Alpha CRS+ are a necessity in my life. If you’re looking for a new supplement regimen, I highly recommend looking into these.
On Guard Sanitizer will also be coming with me, as I spray this on EVERYTHING including my seat in the airplane, tray table, seat belt, toilet and my hands. Between the properties in the clove and cinnamon along with the ethyl alcohol, I feel much better touching things and not getting other people’s funk! I also make sure I have some On Guard travel hand soap with me. I upcycle my foaming face wash (HD Clear) container and take my hand soap in it so I am not using the chemical laden hand soap offered widely in restrooms around the world. #ditchthetoxins
I am also packing my digestive Terrazyme capsules. These help me break down my food and assist with travel meals that may be a tad different than at home. I take these with every meal. To keep myself hydrated, I will add my Tangerine essential oil to my water. This always helps me to keep drinking. Flying seems to take a toll on me if I don’t stay hydrated – my skin tends to get dry and my feet and hands swell.
With international travel and an 8 hour time difference, it will take some time to adjust to a new sleep schedule. I will take both my Serenity and Copaiba Softgels to assist with a restful night of sleep. Copaiba, which comes from a tree in the Amazon rainforest in Brazil, is not only relaxing but has loads of benefits for our immune and nervous systems.
doTERRA offers travel size On Guard toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner in addition to their pain cream, Deep Blue Rub. All of these will be coming with me. I tend to get sore from long flights and hotel beds. Deep Blue was the first oil that I tried for my sore neck and I won’t leave it behind!
I love to travel. There are so many new and exciting things to do and see – honestly, it’s one of my favorite things! (Which you might already know, since I have been living in an RV for the past two years.) But without my go-to travel supplies on-hand, I seriously don’t know what I would do. Having things like On Guard, my vitamins, oils for sleep support and sore muscles make travel a much more enjoyable experience. I don’t know about you, but I feel grateful to have discovered these items so I am able to rely on them when needed.
Now, off to get my suitcase packed!
